Our Story
Who We Are
My name is Nathan Weidner, executive director of Outside Hollywood Movies. I shot my first movie in 1987 as a final project for school, and since this time I have produced 7 feature films. I have a passion for telling stories of significance - stories that move the audience, that challenge them to think about faith and purpose, and that inspire hope in spite of their circumstances.
I have taught high school media production for over 15 years and have a heart for providing opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers. For 5 years I managed PRAUS Media, a non-profit established to help college film students get experience working on their first feature films, and I continue to take student interns on my projects.
I have lived in Ohio most of my life, and I believe that our vibrant arts community has fostered a healthy place for a substantial film industry to thrive. I am passionate about supporting the work of my fellow Ohio filmmakers and strive to encourage and empower them every way I can.
